Vulcan Plastics key personnel have over 50 years experience in the actual production of PVC water and sewer pipe. Our quality control procedures begin with the incoming raw materials, continues through the manufacturing process and final delivery of the finished product.
All three quality control procedures, "Raw Material Purchasing Specification", "Manufacturing Specification" and "Finished Product Specification" are in conformance with the requirements of the National Sanitation Foundation (NSF) and testing is accomplished in accordance with the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM). Our AWWA C-900 is Underwriters Laboratories (UL) approved and our C-900, DR-18 and DR-14 is Factory Mutual (FM) approved.
A special feature of our PVC pipe is the "Secure Seal" gasket available in both water and sewer. The gasket is installed during production, thus forming a permanent and consistent joint that essentially eliminates fish-mouthing while becoming an integral part of the pipe.
Precision forming accuracy and close manufacturing tolerance are checked on a continuing basis during manufacturing thereby assuring excellent joint integrity in installation and operation.
Our "Secure Seal" joints help you eliminate the need for field insertion, the possibility of improper gasket selection and the worries of gasket loss or misplacement.
We boast of Testing and Inspection methods that, when combined with rigid quality control standards, are the most modern in the industry today. Our test records are maintained for the warranted life of the product and are examined frequently by the un-announced visits of outside inspectors. Special test results may be certified by outside Independent Testing Laboratories if it is required or requested.
